History of Sephoco
HISTORY OF SEPHOCO
“Failure is the condiment that gives success its flavor.”
― Truman Capote
Sephoco began as an online photography services company. A serial entrepreneur, Josh Hirsh was just coming off of his first big success – profitably selling a vending business at the age of 22 – and was ready to dive back in to the pool of opportunity. Teaming up with his roommate, Sephoco was born as an interactive photography services company offering cutting edge tools for the modern photographer.
However, after 2 years of blood, sweat, and college savings, Sephoco was edged out by a bigger, more established company with deeper pockets than a newly-married college student. Although Sephoco was not the great success that Josh had envisioned, he faced his failure head on and curated his “little black book” filled with lessons learned and years of cultivated resources. As Josh continued on his entrepreneurial path and new opportunities developed and soared, Josh never forgot Sephoco. Recognizing that many start-ups and small businesses faced Sephoco’s same fate, Josh resurrected Sephoco as the consulting division of Hirsh Enterprises.
Sephoco represents the resilience of the entrepreneurial spirit. Through its regeneration, it is our hope that Sephoco will inspire and rejuvenate our fellow start-up and small business comrades to never stop moving forward.
