With his background in business and IT, Josh covers all things Nitty Gritty. From your credit card processing to web development, Josh is all about emerging technologies and cost effective solutions. Anything that will help you run your business more efficiently and effectively than ever before is his passion. He is a solutions guy. A fixer. In short, he is super handy to have on your team. While Tamar’s background in marketing, public relations, and design landed her in the role of the Pretty. That means she spends her days crafting copy or social media posts to make your business or organization sound better than sliced bread, creating graphics and marketing materials that represent not who you are now but who you want to be, and helping you re-design your retail or office space so not only can you run like a well-oiled machine but you can look good doing it.
Josh Hirsh, Principal & Founder A.K.A. The Nitty Gritty
Josh Hirsh graduated from Yeshiva University Sy Syms School of Business in 2011 with a B.S. in Business Management, a Minor in Entrepreneurship, and an A.A. in Judaic Studies. Although his formal education in entrepreneurship began in university, Josh was bitten by the entrepreneurial bug as a young kid. By the time he entered his freshman year of college, Josh had already created – and sold profitably – his first business. In his junior year, Josh was recruited by the Department of Defense to enter a 2-year internship program to become a Contract Specialist. He has since completed this program and continues to work full time for the Department of Defense in this capacity.
Although now a federal employee, Josh never lost his passion for business. Since 2011, Josh has developed a number of projects including but not limited to an online food ordering service, a wholesale liquor company, and his very own non-profit. In addition to his start-ups, Josh has provided consulting services to start-ups, small businesses, and non-profits through word of mouth for the last 4 years and in September 2013 formally launched Sephoco as the consulting division under Hirsh Enterprises. In his spare time, Josh enjoys volunteering his time to local community service organizations, working on cars utilizing his past experience as an ASE and BMW certified auto technician, and spending time with his amazing wife and goofy rescue dog, Mr. Willie Nelson.
Tamar Klein Hirsh, Creative Director & Senior Consultant A.K.A. The Pretty
Tamar is a holistic communications professional recognized for her big picture approach with a specialty in nonprofits. She graduated with a B.A. in English Communications with a concentration in Public Relations from Yeshiva University’s Stern College for Women and hit the ground running. Quickly moving up the ranks in a corporate process serving company, she soon held the title of Operations Manager and was responsible for 7+ on-site employees and 40+ remote employees. However, her true passion lay outside the corporate realm and she soon left to pursue her dreams of working in nonprofit communications. Through both her corporate and non-profit work, she became intimately aware and directly involved with employee management, fundraising, event planning and management, volunteer management, board engagement, and media relations having participated in anything from a book launch to a photography exhibit to a community dialogue to a 5K and everything in between. Through her nonprofit work, she was exposed to the true value of self-sufficiency and the satisfaction of helping others achieve that goal. Together with Josh, she launched Sephoco as a means to help small businesses and nonprofits take their already fantastic work to the next level. Tamar’s big picture perspective, keen understanding of the necessary moving pieces, and creative vision keep Sephoco’s clients on target in both their branding and their goals for growth. She works day in and day out to help Sephoco clients find their distinct voice through marketing & branding strategy sessions, social media consultation & management services, web design & development, and copywriting.
